New Edition of That Greece Might Still Be Free from Open Book Publishers

Byron Society members and friends may like to know that a new edition of That Greece Might Still Be Free, The Philhellenes in the War of Independence, by William St Clair, has just been published by Open Book Publishers.

The new edition contains many new illustrations, an updated bibliography, and an Introduction by Roderick Beaton, Koraes Professor of Modern Greek and Byzantine History, Language and Literature at King's College, London, that discusses the course of scholarship since the first edition and the continuing importance and relevance of the book.

The new edition can be read in its entirety FREE online, but can also be purchased as a handsomely produced - and durable - book, either in hardback or paperback, at a modest price either through Open Book's website or through Amazon and other booksellers.

There will also be a site for discussion.

Details are available on the Open Book Publishers website.

William, who is chairman of Open Book, would be glad to hear from anyone who wishes to review or comment on the book, or who wishes to propose a title of their own for publication.

He can be reached by email at ws214@cam.ac.uk.

Please pass the news around.
