October 16 A Celebration of the Life of the Late Right Honourable Lord Gilmour of Craigmillar, P.C. Hosted by Lord Byron, with Their Majesties King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie present. Institute of Directors
   
November 5 "The Fixed and the Fluid, Identity in Shelley." Lecture by Professor Michael O'Neill, Durham University. Chair, Kenneth Robbie The Naval Club at 6:00 p.m.
   
December 12 Christmas Lunch with Benjamin Markovits. Mr. Markovits, author of Imposture and A Quiet Adjustment, will speak on "The Two Manuscripts: Childe Harold and Hints from Horace." The Naval Club at noon

January 13 Annual House of Lord Dinner with Guest Speaker Edna O'Brien. Ms. O'Brien will talk about her new biography of Byron, Byron in Love, to be published in February 2009. Chairman and sponsor, The Lord Cobbold. Guests from overseas are particularly encouraged to attend this popular event.
